Sweet Butterflies

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a simple card I made. I've been wanting to use butterflies on my cards for a while now but just haven't gotten around to it until now...Every time I look at the card I feel like the butterflies are just going to fly off into the sky. I have to say I'm loving the hot pink and black combo, I will definitely be using it again. The butterflies were cut with my cricut and the image I used is digi image Kei from Instyle Stamps. The card measures 8x4 in. I kept the card pretty basic because I felt the butterflies already added movement and dimension to the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Paper: Pink and black cardstock

It's Blog Hop time!

It's Blog Hop time at Instyle Stamps! The theme this month was end of summer. Come and join us! If you leave a comment at the Instyle Stamps Blog and vote for your favorite project you could win a goodie bag worth $25 from Instyle Stamps. How great is that?

If you have been following the hop, you should have just left Tina's Blog, if not you could start from the beginning at the Instyle Stamps Blog.

Okay on with the project!
When I think end of summer I think back to school. My sister's kids started school this week and we have been taking lots of pictures so I made this mini album for them.

The pink bow represents my niece and the blue bow is for my nephew. Most of the paper I used for the mini is from October Afternoon. Kristina is one of my favorite images so I just had to use her for the hop. (She is available as a digi at the ISS store which you can find here) I used my cricut to cut out the fence and used cereal boxes for the pages instead of chipboard.

(Click on the pics for a better view)

I stamped some pages with sentiments and used rub ons on others. I also had some green lace that I used as grass. I enjoy making minis and I love how this one turned out. I think I'll ask my dad to help me make a display for this album. Thanks for stopping by!

Your next stop is Jan's Blog! Happy Hopping!

Back To School

My niece is going back to school tomorrow with her little brother. (Kids, they grow up so fast) So I made her a quick present, a bookmark. I made an A2 size card and added a pocket on the front to put the bookmark in. I was searching for a reading quote and thought this one was perfect for the image that I used. The quote says "Reading is to the mind what exercise is t0 the body." . I knew Kristina would be perfect for this project. I hope my niece likes it!

P.S. Instyle Stamps is having a scavenger hunt over at PCP. You still have time to play, we have the scavenger hunt open until 8pm Eastern Sunday (today). You can play along here on Paper Craft Planet: http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/insylestamps/forum/topics/august-release-scavenger-hunt

Color Challenge with Instyle Stamps!

Instyle Stamps has a color challenge for you to try today! Here is the picture we are using. You have lots of blues and greens to work with!

I knew I wanted to make an underwater card but wasn't sure where to start. I used Sofie, who is available in digital and rubber form at ISS. Sofie was colored with copics and prisma pencils. I printed her twice and cut her out to give her a 3d effect.

I thought Sofie definitely needed to be underwater and since I recently bought some watercolor paper I decided to use it as the my card base. I used my marvy le plum II pens and a watercolor brush to paint the sea. I have to say, that was so much fun to do. After the paint dried I covered the front of the card with glitter glue. I then cut the seaweed by hand and colored them with a dark green prisma marker to give it some shadows. I then used my Sakura glitter pen to add some sparkle. The air bubbles are hole puncher scraps I saved. I painted the corners blue and added some glossy accents to give the bubbles a 3d effect. I finally added some shells I had in my stash and stamped the thank you sentiment. I love this card, when you hold it the glitter gives it a "magical glow" that I wasn't able to catch on camera. Hope you join us for the color challenge at Instyle Stamps Blog!

You don't have to use ISS images to enter our challenges but if you do use an ISS image and win you get 4 images of your choice, if you don't have an ISS image and win you still get to choose 2 images from the store! Happy Creating!

Supplies:

Paper: Strathmore watercolor cold press 300g/m
Coloring: Aqua-flo brush, prisma markers/pencils, copics, marvy le plum II markers

Hi everyone! Instyle Stamps has a monthly sketch challenge for you to try for the month of August. You don't have to use images from Instyle Stamps but if you do have some, we would love for you to use them! Here is the sketch provided by ISS. We all made easel cards for this sketch. If you don't know how to make an easel card and you would like to try one out you can follow the tutorial here from Splitcoaststampers.

I used Instyle Stamps wedge digi image which can be found here. I printed the shoe three times and used the third copy to add dimension to the main shoe. I colored the wedges with my prisma markers and pencils. I really like how the shading came out. Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's creations at Instyle Stamps Blog.

Did you hear?

InStyle Stamps had a design team call a few weeks ago and since I loved their stamps I decided to give it a go. I'm so happy to share with you all that I made the cut! Yay!!!!!

If you have never been to their store you should check it out, their images (which include retro, anime and whimsy images) are just adorable! Here is a card I made with one of their yet to be release images called Hanna (which will be available after the 20th of August). Isn't she the sweetest?
