Reuse and Recycle

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share a project I made from a bag of buttons I had recently purchased. You can find them at your local craft store for about $5 each ($3 with coupons). I thought the little bag was really cute and decided to reuse it instead of throwing it away. Here is the bag before:

And here it is after:

Thanks for stopping by, hope you find some things around the house you can reuse for your paper crafts! I used digi image Tracy by Instyle Stamps.

It's Blog Hop Time!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week. Today Instyle Stamps is having it's monthly blog hop. If you're following the hop you should have just left Kristine's Blog , if not you can start from the ISS Blog. Our theme this hop is Fall/Autum. I used Janice (available in digi form) and made her 3x her size. I colored her with copic markers and prisma pencils. Janice may not look like she is ready for fall on the outside but inside her card she has included some delicious fall dessert recipes for you to try. My friend moved to Chicago a few months ago and she had been asking me to send her a recipe of a dish she loved so I thought it would be nice to send her a card with some fall recipes for her to try out also. The little pocket is very easy to make. You just score the two sides of your cardstock and adhere to your card.

I used Glue Arts Raise n's to add dimension to Janice and Glue Arts Ribbon adhesive to apply my ribbon. I'm telling you this ribbon adhesive is great, just be careful when you're handling it because the stickiness can get you if you're not careful. :) The Raise n's are very easy to use, you just peel and stick them to your project.

Your next stop is Robin's Blog. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to vote for your favorite project!

Other ISS Events going on:
  • ISS is hosting a birthday bash for OWH for more info and a chance to win go here.
  • Glue Arts Week: for a chance to win some Glue Arts Adhesives go here.
  • If you leave a comment on this blog or any Instyle Stamps DT blog featuring an ISS project you will be entered to win a digi image from ISS. Good luck!

Hello Everyone! Today over at Crafty Sentiments we are having a "use your scraps" challenge. I always have scrap paper and cardstock left over and hate to throw it away but this time I had an excuse to save it. I embossed one scrap of cardstock with my cuttlebug and used a lace punch on the other. I followed the Mojo Monday Sketch for this card and love how it looks. ISS Release Chloe in Wonderland plus card template

Happy Wednesday! Today ISS is showing you Chloe in Wonderland! When I saw this image I knew I had to make a funky card...so I decided to make my own cake card template. I love how it turned out! The candles were an after thought...I wanted to put a teapot and tea cup on the top but then decided on the candles so I drew them by hand, cut them out and colored them. I colored Chloe with my copics and prisma markers.

I used the Glue Glider Pro to apply the patterned paper. I was able to handle the Glue Glider much better with this card because I had gotten used to it.I also used Glue Arts Ribbon adhesive for my rickrack ribbon. I gotta say I'm really liking the Ribbon Adhesive. I use a lot of ribbon and lace on my projects and this adhesive actually makes them stick! One main thing I noticed and had trouble with was the position of the tape. I would have preferred if the tape was facing inward instead of out. Because the tape is facing outward it tends to stick to things like your fingers and tid bits of scraps that are close to the adhesive. To fix this I just had to be really careful not to let the strips of adhesives touch anything besides the paper I was going to use it on. Conclusion: The ribbon adhesive works great but you need to be really careful when handling it.

ISS Release Week Firefly Chloe

Hello everyone, it's time for Instyle Stamps release week! Hooray! Even more great news, Glue Arts has graciously sponsored us and this whole week the DT and I will be showing you projects made with Glue Arts adhesives. We will also be giving away some goodies from Glue Arts over at the Instyle Stamps blog so be sure to check the blog this week! Now on with the project! Today ISS is showing you Firefly Chloe! Isn't she a cutie? She will be in the store this Friday. The grass, trees and moon were cut with the cricut and are from Plantin Schoolbook. I added glitter to the moon and grass and the sentiment is from a MS wedding set. Thanks for stopping by! Read on for my 1st experience with my Glue Glider Pro. :)

I used the GlueGlider Pro as my main adhesive. I have to say I had never used the GGP before and was a bit scared to use it. At first I was a bit hesitant to try it out, but I thought what the heck let's try something new. :) I found out that I prefer small strips of adhesive (instead of a continuous line) and really like the green roller which lets me chose how much adhesive to use. I also found out the hard way that the perma tac is unbelievably permanent, so I had to be sure to place my things the right way the first time or I was out of luck. Conclusion: Overall I thought the Glue Glider Pro was easy to use once I got the hang of it (like maybe after 5-10 applications) and the adhesive was very effective.

Adhesive: Glue Glider Pro by Glue Arts (perma-tac)

Instyle Stamps is showing sneak peeks of new images this week and today it's time to show Double Bloom! I used the image 3 times, flipped each image and resized it so they would look a bit different. I was going to have them coming from the ground but they looked more like branches to me, so I decided to have them hanging from above. Check out the ISS Blog for more sneak peeks and gorgeous creations from the Design Team!

Sweet Butterflies

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a simple card I made. I've been wanting to use butterflies on my cards for a while now but just haven't gotten around to it until now...Every time I look at the card I feel like the butterflies are just going to fly off into the sky. I have to say I'm loving the hot pink and black combo, I will definitely be using it again. The butterflies were cut with my cricut and the image I used is digi image Kei from Instyle Stamps. The card measures 8x4 in. I kept the card pretty basic because I felt the butterflies already added movement and dimension to the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Instyle Stamps Sketch Challenge

I can't believe it's September already! Boy, time is flying by so fast. It also means Instyle Stamps has a new sketch challenge for you to try. This time we were all asked to make a T-slide card. I have to admit I had a bit of trouble with this one. If you want to try a T-slide card you can follow the tutorial here. I'm not used to making masculine cards...even though I have a nephew, but I'm trying to get a feel for them.

I used Hiroku, (who is available in digi and rubber) isn't he just the cutest? For more inspiration and to submit your entry go to the Instyle Stamps Blog. Thanks for stopping by!

If you are randomly selected and used an ISS image, you win 2 digi images
If you are randomly selected and did not use an ISS image, you still win 1 digi image for ISS.
